Dr. Simone Kohnz, Manager ESMT Competition Analysis

 

Thema: Wettbewerbspolitik der Europäischen Union



Simone Kohnz has provided assistance and economic advice concerning European merger cases, UK market investigations, state aid cases and regulatory issues. In particular, Simone Kohnz has worked on merger cases in industrial and consumer goods markets, music publishing and the textile industry. Among other analyses, she has also performed bidding studies. She has been extensively involved in the UK grocery sector investigation as well as BAA airports investigation, where she specialised on supply chain and ownership economics. Simone Kohnz has also provided economic advice on Art. 82 cases in the energy sector, the industrial goods sector and the media industry. In addition, she has investigated the impact of barriers to entry regulation in professional services (pharmacies and the legal profession). Apart from industry clients, Simone Kohnz has worked on reports for governmental bodies such as the UK Home Office and the UK Department for Constitutional Affairs.

Prior to joining ESMT Competition Analysis Simone Kohnz was an Analyst at the European Competition Practice of the economics consultancy NERA, London. She holds a PhD in bargaining theory from the University of Munich.
